South County K6MPN Repeaters: Usage and Coverage

K6MPN Repeaters: UHF and 6m

South County ARES owns, maintains and operates a UHF repeater (444.500+PL100) and a six meter repeater (53.68-PL114.8). Below is a coverage map of the UHF repeater.

Memorandum of Understanding on use of the K6MPN repeaters on
444.500+ MHz T-100 Hz, RSq-100 Hz, and K6MPN 53.68- T 114.8 Hz, RSq 114.8 Hz
between South County ARES, Robert Lombaerde, WB6WGM, Trustee, and the amateur radio community.

The 444.500 MHz repeater commonly known as “SCARES” and "K6MPN" has priority use primarily for South County ARES in emergencies, but may entertain similar public safety groups in an emergency. [This priority use applies to the 6m K6MPN repeater as well.]

Both K6MPN repeaters are open repeaters and welcome casual usage by licensed amateur radio operators. However, the UHF repeater also hosts South County ARES scheduled Monday night nets at 1930 hr and hosts other monthly/weekly nets. Organizations wishing to use the repeater for drills, training or events should contact the Trustee or SCARES board for availability to eliminate any conflicts.
